Coastal Adaptation Strategy Community Sessions – Planning for the Future of Robe’s Coastline

We invite the Robe community and interest persons to join us for Coastal Adaptation Strategy Community Sessions on Thursday, 12 December 2024, at the Robe Institute (Mundy Terrace, Robe).

We are working on an important project to address the growing risks of coastal erosion and flooding in our region, which are expected to worsen due to sea level rise. This project focuses on identifying the potential hazards for Robe's coastline and evaluating options to adapt and protect our community in the coming decades.

We are inviting all community members to attend these interactive sessions, where you'll have the chance to learn about the specific coastal hazards facing Robe and the proposed adaptation strategies to safeguard our township. Your involvement is crucial because the decisions we make today will shape the future of our coastline and local environment.

Why Attend?

  • Learn About the Risks: Understand the potential impacts of coastal erosion and flooding on Robe, now and into the future.
  • Have Your Say: These sessions are interactive, giving you the chance to ask questions and provide feedback on the draft Coastal Adaptation Strategy.
  • Shape Robe’s Future: Be part of the conversation on how we can protect Robe’s environment, properties, and infrastructure from the risks of sea level rise and climate change.
  • Get Expert Insight: A professional coastal engineer from FSC Range will lead the session and explain the proposed strategies in clear, accessible terms.

Your participation is important to ensure we have a strategy that works for our community. We encourage everyone to attend and help shape the plan that will guide Robe's adaptation efforts through to 2100.
