The District Council of Robe has proudly announced the successful recipients of its 2025/26 Community Grants Program, following approval at Council’s September Ordinary Meeting.

The program provides both financial and in-kind support to local community groups, sporting clubs and event organisers whose projects and initiatives align with Council’s Strategic Plan and deliver positive outcomes for the district.

Mayor Lisa Ruffell said the grants reflected the diversity and strength of Robe’s community spirit.  “This year’s successful applications highlight just how much energy and initiative exists in our community. From local sporting clubs and schools through to tourism and cultural groups, each recipient is helping to create opportunities that bring people together, strengthen wellbeing and showcase Robe on the regional stage,” Mayor Ruffell said.

Funding has been provided across both Community Project and Event Sponsorship categories, with projects ranging from upgrades to club facilities and heritage conservation, to signature community events that attract visitors and support the local economy.

Community groups receiving support include the Robe Sports & Recreation Association for New Year’s Eve safety measures, the Robe Tourism Association for the redevelopment of the town’s tourism website, and the National Trust’s Robe Branch for works on the Old Police Stables. Sporting clubs such as the Robe Motorsports Club, Lake Fellmongery Water Ski Club and Limestone Coast Little Athletics Centre have also secured support to upgrade equipment and facilities, while Kingston Community School will implement a new reward system for its students.

On the events front, Council has committed funding and in-kind support to help deliver some of Robe’s most loved community occasions — including the 2025 Christmas Parade, the 2026 Easter Fete, and the Southern Ocean Art Prize. Event organisers such as Health Harmony & Happiness Inc., Robe Combined Probus and Adelaide Trail Runners will also receive assistance to bring their activities to life.

Mayor Ruffell said these events and projects were not only valuable to participants but also provided a wider benefit for Robe.  “These grants aren’t just about financial support; they’re about investing in the vibrancy of our community. They help ensure that Robe remains a welcoming, active and connected place for residents while also encouraging visitors to discover what makes our town special,” she said.

The 2025/26 Community Grants Program is part of Council’s ongoing commitment to encourage participation, support local facilities and events, and deliver both economic and social benefits for the district.

Council extends its congratulations to all successful applicants and looks forward to seeing their projects and events rolled out over the year ahead.
