Ordinary meetings of Council are held on the second Wednesday of each month and commence at 6:30pm in the Council Chambers, Smillie Street, Robe.

If a meeting time or date is changed, notification will be given via Council's website and Facebook page.

Any person wishing to speak in the public forum at a Council meeting is allowed a maximum of five minutes to address Council. A total of thirty minutes is allocated for the public forum.

Getting Involved in Council Meetings

Everyone is welcome to come along and sit in the public gallery at our Ordinary and Special Council Meetings.

If you’d like to address Council Members directly at an Ordinary Council Meeting, there are two ways to do so:

  • Public Forum – 15 minutes is set aside at the start of each meeting where community members can ask questions or share comments (up to 5 minutes each) on any issue or take the opportunity to ask questions of Council. Giving notice beforehand helps us schedule your time, but you may also have the chance to speak on the day if time permits.
  • Deputations – A more formal presentation to Council on a specific matter whether it is listed in the agenda or not.. Requests need to be submitted in writing ahead of time using the deputation request form and speakers are given up to 10 minutes.
