Environment
The District Council of Robe undertakes activities to prevent disease, manage risk and promote healthy environments to safeguard the health of people in the Robe community. The environment that people live in has a significant impact upon their health. Environmental Health is aimed at maintaining and promoting a high standard of public and environmental health, relating to food, public health, environmental protection and notifiable diseases.
Some of the objectives Council is committed to relating to Environmental Health include:
-Providing safe and properly labelled food
-Preventing infectious and communicable diseases
-Providing healthy and safe accommodation buildings and services
-Ensuring community awareness of environmental and community health responsibilities
-Ensuring effective and safe management of wastes
-Providing environmental protection
-Preventing environmental and public health nuisances
-Promoting the physical, mental and social well-being of members of the community
