DISTRICT COUNCIL OF ROBE APPOINTS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Following an extensive recruitment process, Mayor Ruffell is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Natalie (Nat) Traeger as the new Chief Executive Officer at the District Council of Robe, with this decision confirmed at Council’s 11 October 2023 meeting.
Growing up in country South Australia, Ms Traeger has enjoyed an impressive 36-year career in Local Government. Developing her earlier career at the Coorong District Council, Ms Traeger progressed to a senior level having demonstrated a solid track record of success, heavily focussed on Human Resources, Corporate and Community Service areas.
After many years at Manager and Director level, Ms Traeger became CEO at Kingston District Council. In her time as CEO, Ms Traeger has been instrumental in the delivery of major capital projects, bringing about a closure to all joint contractual obligations with the Cape Jaffa Development Company as well as the development and implementation of a Coastal Adaptation Strategy.
Mayor Ruffell said, “particularly of benefit to Robe, Ms Traeger has always had a strong affinity with regional and rural locations, and really appreciates what is needed both personally and professionally to succeed in this environment”.
"Her strength in team building, delivering community results and excellent understanding of local government at both an operational and strategic level makes her well equipped to lead our Council”.
While Ms Traeger currently lives in Kingston, she intends to relocate to Robe so will become a valuable member of our community as well as to Council.
Ms Traeger will commence with the District Council of Robe in the coming months. Although Kingston District Council are sad to see Ms Traeger leave, they wish her all the very best with her new role at Robe.
