Public Consultation - Four Year Business Plan 2021-22 to 2024-25

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 123 of the Local Government Act 1999, Council is required to prepare an Annual Business Plan and Budget which provides a summary of the long-term goals and the activities that Council intends to undertake to achieve them.

Council is aware that many of the activities undertaken by Council are ongoing and are implemented over more than one year. Therefore, Council have decided to move to a rolling Four Year Business Plan and Budget so that the community can understand the impact of decisions.

Public Consultation - Long Term Financial Plan

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 122 (1)(a) of the Local Government Act 1999 and the Local Government (Financial Management) Regulations 2011, Council is required to develop and adopt a Long-Term Financial Plan for a period of at least  10 years.

The Long Term Financial Plan has been developed not only to satisfy this requirement, but to assist in determining the financial projections for the District Council of Robe from 2021-22 to 2030-31, based on information available at the time.

The Long Term Financial Plan is used to assist in financial decision making. Consideration is given to what services are to be provided, the level of those services, the rating impost, income from other sources, the level of funding required from borrowings and the ability to service those borrowings.

Public Consultation - Rating Policy

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 123 of the Local Government Act 1999, Council is required to have a rating policy that must be prepared and adopted as part of the Annual Business Plan each year in conjunction with the declaration of rates.

The Rating Policy (Policy 2.28) has been changed to reflect the decisions adopted by Council at the May 2021 meeting. The purpose of this policy is to outline council’s approach to rating it’s communities and to meet the requirements of the Local Government Act 1999.
