Audit and Risk Committee Expression of Interest

The District Council of Robe is calling a qualified and experienced Independent Member to join our Audit and Risk Committee until November 2026.

We will value your strong skills which will complement our existing Committee Members in Accounting, Financial Management and Risk Management.

About the Committee

The purpose of an Audit and Risk Committee established by a Council is to provide independent assurance and advice to the council on accounting, financial management, internal controls, risk management and governance matters.

We offer a sitting fee of $300 per meeting, travel allowance in accordance with the ATO guidelines, and travel time allowance of $50 for 30-50km and $100 for 50-100km.

Responsibilities of our Audit and Risk Committee include:

  • Review financial statements and strategic management plans.
  • Monitor the implementation of improvement recommendations.
  • Assess the adequacy of accounting, internal controls, reporting and financial management systems and practices.
  • Provide oversight of the internal audit reports.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of policies, systems and procedures related to strategic, financial, and operational risk management.
  • Review and prudential issues report.
  • Collaborate with the auditor as required by financial management regulations.
