Robe Street Redevelopment

We commenced our Robe Street Redevelopment Community Engagement Strategy on January 31 by meeting with impacted business owners and occupiers in the Robe and Flint Street precinct.

The main goal for this engagement session was to seek feedback from impacted businesses and owners before presenting draft concept plans to community for wider consultation.

Proposed improvements to be included in the design include;

  • Widening of bitumen to match existing road widths
  • Footpath access from Brouwer Estate to existing pathway
  • Multiple cross over point
  • Reduced heavy vehicle and pedestrian interactions
  • Increased parking - Total of 70+ Extra parks
  • Clear delineation for Jenny Matthews Carpark
  • Nature reserve seating areas

During the engagement session discussion and feedback was focused around;

  • Public toilets
  • SA Water Infrastructure concerns
  • Storm Water Management
  • Median strips/ strip lanes
  • Line marking and accessibility for heavy vehicles/loading areas and caravans
  • Options for Flint Street to be one way
  • Street planting and greener environment and impact on assets
  • Angle parking to Robe Street

This engagement will drive amendments to the draft concept plans and assist council with the development of this important major project for community.

Engagement Session 2 will again be held with this core business group once plan amendments have been received by Council.

These plans will be presented to community for wider feedback once the impacted business owners and occupiers are generally satisfied with the concept designs.
