Robe were proud to participate in NAIDOC Week this year with the help from Robyn Campbell – CEO of Burrandies Aboriginal Corporation, Aunty Penny Bonney, Uncle Doug Nicholls, Peter Clarke and Amanda Clarke.
The event included a welcome in language, smoking cultural ceremony and flag raising ceremony.
Due to COVID restrictions, a select group of people were invited by Council to participate in this event, including the Robe Kindy and Robe Primary School.
We look forward to holding an event each year to celebrate NAIDOC Week and the Boandik people.
